OptoSpan SFP (Small Form-Factor Pluggable) transceivers are designed for a wide array of optical data and telecommunication environments. These SONET/SDH SFP modules operate at a rate of up to 4G, and communicate over single- or multimode fiber in a variety of wavelengths spanning distances of up to 200 kilometers. 4G Fibre Channel SFP transceivers with LC connector are available for use with CWDM/DWDM, standard Duplex, and single fiber BiDirectional transmissions.

SFP Transceivers Series

OptoSpan offers two lines of SFP transceiver modules for different compatibility:
Standard Duplex SFP transceivers are compatible for use with brands such as Finisar, Avago, JDSU, and other generic brands, and Platinum OEM Series transceivers which are Cisco compatible SFP modules and designed for specific compatibility requirements such as Cisco, Brocade, Juniper, Alcatel, HP, Nortel, EMC, QLogic, and other OEM networks.

SFP Transceiver Technical Features

All OptoSpan Duplex SFP transceivers IEEE Std 802.3 , and RoHS compliant, allow for real-time diagnostic monitoring as per SFF-8472 and designed to meet Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) standards for Duplex SFP transceivers with LC interface.

Duplex SFP Transceivers

BiDi SFP Transceivers

Single Fiber Bidirectional (BiDi) SFP Transceivers

OptoSpan Single Fiber BiDirectional SFP (BiDi) transceivers use simplex single-mode fiber to double the bandwidth without the cost. These hot-swappable SFP BiDi transceivers provide data rates of 4G and distance up to 160 kilometers.

CWDM SFP Transceivers

OptoSpan CWDM (Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing) SFP transceivers transmit multiple data channels using separate optical wavelengths onto a single fiber to increase network capacity for a fiber optical transceiver module. CWDM SFP transceivers provide data rates of up to 4G and reach a distance of up to 200 km.

DWDM SFP Transceivers

OptoSpan DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) SFP transceivers use different wavelengths to multiplex several optical signal onto a single fiber, without requiring any power to operate. These transceivers are intended for high capacity, long distance transmissions.  4G Fibre Channel CWDM SFP transceivers reach distances of up to 200km.
